DJ Tino’s journey into DJing was sparked by a deep connection to music. “I listen to music a lot,” she says. Beyond listening, her musical background runs deeper she also plays the violin, a foundation that subtly informs her understanding of rhythm, timing, and sound.

Like many unconventional beginnings, DJ Tino’s first step into the industry came unexpectedly. After taking DJ classes for just two weeks in August last year, a friend secured her a club gig. Despite insisting she wasn’t ready, she showed up anyway.

“It wasn’t so bad,” she recalls. “I made mistakes, but only I noticed them. The controller at the club was bad too, so I had to figure things out on my own.”

That experience, though challenging, became a defining moment proof that she could adapt quickly and deliver under pressure.

Relocating to Lagos just over a year ago, DJ Tino acknowledges that one of her biggest challenges has been building visibility, meeting new people, and securing consistent gigs in a highly competitive space.

“I’m still struggling,” she admits. “And I’m still trying to get used to the Lagos space.”

Among her proudest achievements so far is the growth of her YouTube channel, where she shares DJ mixes and videos with a wider audience. For DJ Tino, the platform represents more than content creation, it is proof of her growth and willingness to explore new creative lanes.

Currently, she is focused on expanding her digital presence by uploading more mixes and vlogs, allowing fans to connect with her sound beyond live performances.

Looking ahead, DJ Tino is committed to stepping out of her comfort zone. She hopes to create more content, experiment creatively, and continue building her identity as a DJ in both physical and digital spaces.
